Farmers to Get Tips to Cope with Arthritis

LONDON, Ohio -- The Cleveland-based Ohio-Israel Agricultural Initiative of The Negev Foundation (http://www.negev.org) is sponsoring an Israel Agriculture Pavilion at Ohio State University’s Farm Science Review. Israel, a world leader in agricultural technology, is the only international country to have a pavilion at the event.

Farm Science Review will take place Sept. 18-20 at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center in London, Ohio. The Israel Agriculture Pavilion, located on the Farm Science Review grounds along Chemical Avenue (near Gate A), will present the latest in Israeli agricultural innovations; agricultural and greenhouse technology and equipment; irrigation; filtration; plastics for agriculture; automation and controllers, and more.

About 20 Israeli companies and several Israeli agricultural associations will be presented at the Israel Agriculture Pavilion.  The Israeli Consul, Leo Vinovesky, will be on-hand to greet visitors Sept. 20 at the opening of the Israel Agriculture Pavilion.

Visitors to the Israel Agriculture Pavilion will have the opportunity to learn about the February 9-20, 2008 Agricultural and Holy Land Tour of Israel, sponsored by the Ohio-Israel Agricultural Initiative of The Negev Foundation and the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. Visitors will also sample Israeli olive oil, soy bread and apples dipped in honey. Videos about tourism and agritourism to the Holy Land and about Israel’s agriculture will be featured at the Pavilion, and printed materials will be available for distribution.

The Ohio-Israel Agricultural Initiative of The Negev Foundation is dedicated to improving agricultural trade and research and development ties between Ohio and Israel by working with government, academic, and business entities and growers in both regions.  The objective of this initiative is to foster greater collaboration between Ohio and Israeli government and research institutions, farmers, and companies; develop joint research and development and educational activities; identify agribusiness ventures based on new technologies; introduce potential investors; and expand commercial ties and market access in both regions.

For more information about Ohio-Israel Agricultural Initiative of The Negev Foundation, contact Sarah Horowitz, program director, at (216) 691-9997, or sara@negev.org.
