COLUMBUS, Ohio -- This year’s Ohio State University Farm Science Review is upon us, and we have quite a number of exciting events and exhibits that will be showcased.
The event will be held Sept. 18-20 at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center in London, Ohio.
The following are just some of the highlights to look forward to at this year’s Farm Science Review:
• Purdue University returns for its third visit. The collaboration between Ohio State and Purdue brings the best specialists both universities have to offer in agriculture, nutrition, family and consumer sciences and natural resources.
• Farm Science Review will offer topics on farm financial management and agriculture law. Such topics include farm wages and benefits, cropland values, cash rents, and decision-making tools like the new nitrogen rate calculator.
• Farm Science Review will offer a comprehensive series on grain systems handling for those growing continuous corn. Topics will include: grain storage, insect control, grain drying, grain handling, grain management, and grain safety. FSR will also showcase a new grain dryer, being built on the Molly Caren Agricultural Center grounds, as part of the grain operation demonstration efforts.
• From ethanol to wind power to hydrogen fuel cells, interest in bioenergy continues to grow. Look for a wide variety of bioenergy topics during the event, many of which will be showcased in the new energy education tent located in Alumni Park.
• Farm Science Review will continue with its Ohio Land Improvement Contractors Association (OLICA) water management project with additional controlled drainage structures. The structures are designed to reduce erosion, improve water quality and make crop production more profitable.
