Get Involved
The Gwynne operates and is maintained by a crew of students from The Ohio State University, under the supervision of the Molly Caren Agricultural Center site manager. The demonstrations and programming at the Conservation Area are made possible through the generosity of donors and volunteers.
Opportunities to Participate
More than 100 volunteers help make the programs at the GCA work. Our volunteers lead tours of the Gwynne’s conservation practices, staff exhibits during field events, and help run the many ‘behind the scenes’ activities that keep our programs growing. The primary volunteer opportunity surrounds the three-day Farm Science Review that takes place each September, during which more than 4000 visitors explore the GCA. Other volunteer opportunities throughout the year are becoming available as we expand both our facilities and activities. Use this information on volunteering at the Gwynne Conservation Area during Farm Science Review. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Mary Slyby at 614.688.3421 or slyby.5@osu.edu
Landscape beds surrounding the Gwynne Conservation Area Interpretive Center are maintained by the Madison County Master Gardeners. Contact the Master Gardener Volunteer Program for more information on how to join.
Opportunities to Give
The Gwynne Conservation Area (GCA) depends on the generous support of our donors through our endowment fund established in 2001 and our newly established educational programming fund. All new demonstration areas and programs are dependent on the acquisition of new funding.
Donations to support the operation and installed demonstration practices, can be made to the Robinson Craig Fendrick / Gwynne Conservation Endowment (fund number: 642172) or to the GCA general accounts.
If you are interested in supporting Gwynne programs, including exhibits, displays and educational programs, donations can be made to the Dan Kush Gwynne Conservation Area Educational Fund (fund number: 311780). These programs are also now supported by the James H. Given, Jr. Farm Science Review Educational Improvement Fund (fund number 642535).
For more information on the Gwynne Conservation Area or to make a donation, please contact the Farm Science Review office at 614.292.4278 or go to donate at the FSR.
